Dear Westwood Residents:
The Governor took additional, incremental steps today toward relaxing the stay-at-home orders. The promises of open beaches and outdoor recreation this summer are uplifting, but please continues to adhere to social distance and hygiene protocols for everyone?s safety.
Highlights of the executive order include:
1. The New Jersey shore and lakes are opening Friday May 22 with capacity limits, social distancing enforcement, and prohibitions on contact sports and organized events.
2. Showers, pavilions, changing areas and restrooms will be open as will restroom facilities at parks (commencing this weekend with additional sanitation efforts)
3. Face covers are recommended on the boardwalk, where the restaurants are permitted to reopen for take out and delivery only. Amusement parks, playgrounds & visitor centers will remain closed for the immediate future but may reopen.
For those staying close to home for the foreseeable future, Memorial Day Weekend can still mark the start of the summer season with a series of safe, virtual, and family-unit events orchestrated by Celebrate Westwood.
